Lefkada is one of the more stunningly beautiful Greek islands. Because of the brilliant turquoise of its waters, it’s recently earned the sobriquet “the Caribbean of Greece.” So Crystal Waters is aptly named.
The hotel’s is laid out as a series of detached dwellings, architecturally similar to other buildings on the island, arranged with 3 free-form swimming pools as their focal point.
One of the best things about Lefkada is that it’s easy to get to: it’s one of the only Greek islands that you don’t need a ferry to get to: a short hundred-meter bridge connects the island from the mainland of Greece at approximately the center point on Greece’s west coast.
At approximately a third of the way down the east coast of this greener than average Greek island is the Crystal Waters Resort, which faces the mainland, across the 3.5 km Drepanou Inlet, making for a pleasant view from the beach across the water, where you can watch the sunrise over the hills of the mainland.
Lefkada is one of the more stunningly beautiful Greek islands. Because of the brilliant turquoise of its waters, its natural endowments such as waterfalls and dramatic, sheer cliff-backed beaches, and other interesting and beautiful topographical features, it’s recently earned the sobriquet “the Caribbean of Greece.”
Travel and Leisure recently ranked Egremi Beach in Lefkada as one of the “Most 25 Beautiful Places In Europe,” saying that the beach, backed up by sheer, high cliffs, has some of the “bluest water in the world.”
So Crystal Waters is aptly named.
The hotel’s is laid out as a series of detached dwellings, architecturally similar to other buildings on the island, arranged with 3 free-form swimming pools as their focal point. The topography descends toward the sea, with some interesting elements in construction, such as the seaward end of one of the pools being a 2 meter-high retaining wall due to the slope of the land.
The pools themselves descend, end to end, down the slope like a series of locks in a waterway. The hotel is close to, but not on the beach (about a 3 minute walk). Each building houses two or more rooms or suites. Forty-seven of the hotel’s 146 units have their own plunge pools.

Comfort Junior Rooms
Cozy Double Room
This is the standard lower-priced room at Crystal Waters. This doesn’t mean that the hotel skimps on anything especially quality. Some Cozy Doubles have a bamboo wall screen behind the headboard of their double beds, giving them a slightly exotic, woodsy feel. Furnished balcony affords a nice exterior view.
Rozoli Double Rooms
The Rozoli Double Partial Sea View has a furnished balcony that looks out over the gardens, and roof tops of the neighboring buildings towards the sea, with the mountains of the mainland in the distance. The roof over the balcony is supported by timber pillars, with timber roof beams and an inlaid horizontal decorative bamboo wall. Open floor plan features a double bed, bathroom and shower.
The slight difference of the Rozoli Double Sea View is that the view of the Ionian Sea is unobstructed, and the rooms comes in a uniform size of 30 square meters.
Superior Double Pool View
The Superior Double with Pool View’s balcony, or terrace, depending on what level the room is, overlooks the resort’s pools, the patio, it’s trees, and the buildings just opposite. There’s always something to see. The open plan of the room allows tons of light to come in.
Elegant Double with Private Pool
The Elegant Double with Private Pool and the Elegant Double Sea View with Private Pool are identical in size and layout. They both have a sleeping area with a double bed or twin beds according to your preference. Both are on the ground floor. Both have a furnished veranda. The Elegant Double with Private Pool looks out on the hotel’s grounds, and has a private splash pool for your pleasure. The Elegant Double Sea view with Private Pool also has a private splash pool, but the view is seaward, with a nice view of the Ionian, with the mountains of mainland Greece in the distance.

Emerald Suite Partial Sea View with Private Pool
The Emerald Suite’s layout is on two levels. There is a furnished veranda with a splash pool with a bamboo curtain dividing it from the next unit for complete privacy. Veranda and pool are on the top floor of the resort, affording a splendid view of the sea, the surrounding trees, and is open to the sky.
Armonia Suite Sea View
Equipped with a large double bed and a sofa bed, the Armonia Suite Sea View is the perfect getaway for a small family, with its large double bed and sofa bed. The layout lends itself to comfort, privacy, and roominess. As is usual with Crystal Waters, there is a lot of exposed wood in both the furnishings and in the decorative room treatments. Probably the best amenity isn’t found in the room itself, or on the balcony, but rather, from the balcony: as you enjoy your morning coffee you can watch the sun rise over the Ionian Sea and the serried hills and mountains of the Greek mainland.

Presidential Suite Partial Sea View with Private Pool
This roomy suite compromises, in a sense, in its view (only a partial view of the sea), but the trade-off is worth it: the suite comes with its own pool. The lower level of this 2-tier suite has living and dining areas, whilst the upper level has two bedrooms equipped with their own bathroom and shower facilities, with a large balcony providing a nice view of the sea and the grounds.
Food and Drink
Crystal Waters Lefkada provides some interesting and unconventional food and drink options. Food options focus on the Mediterranean diet in all its nutritious and tasty forms. This includes such basic ingredients as olive oil, olives, nuts, legumes, lemons and fresh fruit and veggies, and a variety of meat (mostly pork) and seafood offerings.
The two restaurants at Crystal waters reflect this philosophy of food.
The Emerald Restaurant and the Duende Restaurant are indoor-outdoor eating venues near poolside. Both offer a great choice of various Mediterranean dishes. Also on offer are a variety of menu items from around the world. Romantic dinners for two are also on offer at Crystal Waters; catered meals at poolside for you and that special someone in your life.
A unique way of enjoying breakfast can be had in Crystal Waters’ floating breakfast- a heart-shaped floating tray full of toast, coffee, eggs, sauces, bread, cheese and many other items can be ordered, to be enjoyed as you relax in your private pool and feel the morning sun’s warmth on your body.
As for liquid refreshment, the hotel’s swim up pool bar is just the thing for those hot summer days to complement your refreshing dip in the pool. Seats at the bar are slightly underwater, allowing you to continue to soak as you drink your favorite beer cocktail, wine or soft drink to further cool you off.
Several shisha corners are available to you at Crystal waters. Otherwise known as hookahs, or hubble-bubble pipes, an endless variety of blended tobacco are yours to sample whilst enjoying traditional sweets, mountain tea, or a cocktail.
