It’s sort of like time travel if you can export 5-star luxury into the past as well. You get the classic, Venetian-inspired Zakynthian architecture with its Italian arches, white stone building materials, rooms all decked out in earth tones, along with all the modern amenities you could wish for. If you desire a romantic getaway, or a fun-filled family vacation, this is the place for you.
Just three km northeast of Zakynthos town near the village of Akrotiri, Zakynthos, five- star Lesante Cape Resort and Villas is a new resort built in the same area as some of the most magnificent Italian-era villas on the northeast coast, with a view towards mainland Greece, and neighboring Kefalonia, during the era of Venetian rule from about 1500 to about 1800.
The resort is configured to mimic the organic structure of a typical Greek village which means there is a central plaza or square. However, no one will mistake the resort for a village in that there it has a lot of swimming pools, and excellent spa, and its own beach. Be that as it may, the square is the place to be, a hub of the entire resort’s social life.
It has a café and a tavern, some small shops in its perimeter, and even a church, and a folklore museum. You can enjoy a meal, a coffee, a snack, you can meet new people, and you can do a little shopping on the side.
There are three beautifully tiered infinity pools stair-stepping down the slope of the rise the resort is built on.
Guests loved the traditional Greek evenings, the food, and the dancing. The property has been described as “breathtakingly beautiful,” with gorgeous sunsets. Guests are given a courtesy tour of the resort via golf cart at the start of their stay to get them oriented.
